It’s time for a new you. Start here to begin your transformation.
1) Go through your pantry right now and throw away everything with high fructose corn syrup. Now your refrigerator. Surprised? Is there a lot? But we’re not finished. Refined and processed sugars hide behind many different names. Now go back and throw away everything with sugar, glucose, corn syrup, fructose, evaporated cane sugar, and barley malt. Phew. (side note: instead of throwing everything away, you can also choose to donate unused/unopened items to your local food bank where they will be grateful for the items).
The bottom line: It’s time to cut down on sugar use. Having some sugar every once in a while isn’t a sin, but it shouldn’t be in everything you eat. Becoming conscious of where it’s lurking will help you consume less. Consider reading the list of ingredients on a product in the supermarket before just throwing it into your cart.
2) Forget the coffee… it’s tea time. Your body’s pH is actually very important when it comes to being your healthiest. Drinking too much coffee can cause your blood to become too acidic, resulting in sickness and in the long-run, potentially disease. On the other hand, tea gives your immune system a natural boost and aids the body in ridding itself of harmful toxins. It even scavenges free radicals in the body that are responsible for aging. What more could a girl ask for?
The bottom line: Even though you might have to deal with a headache for a few days while your body adjusts to the caffeine deprivation, hang in there. Pretty soon you should start to enjoy higher energy levels, clearer skin, and boosted immunity against those pesky seasonal bugs.
3) Get moving. Want to lose weight? Get moving. Clearer skin? Get moving. Feeling sad? Get moving. You get the point. The benefits of exercise seem endless. Not only does it keep you looking great, it also boosts your immune system and can help combat feelings of sadness or depression as it floods your body with endorphins, giving you a natural high that helps keep you strong and healthy.
The bottom line: We don’t expect you to be running marathons right away, but don’t cheat yourself on a good sweat session either. Don’t be afraid to take the stairs, give yoga a try, or lift some weights. It won’t be long until you feel more fit and fab.
Enjoy your trip to a thinner, happier, healthier, and brighter you!
