I know what you’re thinking.
Big car. ZROOM ZRROOOM.
But what I’m really talking about is this:
A good old-fashioned mobile. (ya know, pronounced like MOH-BEEL.) I had one as a kid, only it wasn’t bats, it was our solar system (totally cool!).
Now in the spirit of Halloween, I made this bat mobile out of some black poster board, a wire clothes hanger, a bit of tape, and clear fishing line.
Bigger bats not part of the mobile are hiding throughout the house too.
Flying bats, perching bats, playful bats.
Oh and a spider too!
Tell me in the comments below- how do you decorate for Halloween?
note: I am only responsible for creating the bats in pics 1-4. where did the others come from?! oh my!!
I love your bat mobile! Where did you get the idea? The little mystery bats hanging out in your bamboo are cute too! Halloween is fun. Hopefully we’ll get some trick-or-treaters tomorrow night
We decorate with pumpkins, a hay bale, Skeleton, and scarecrow outside. Indorse, we use lots of candles to set a dark and spooky mood. We love Halloween in our home – especially me because I love costumes! Yay!
oooo that sounds fun! and spooky!! I wish I could see it! I carved a pumpkin too, and lit a lone little candle in my big front window. I Looovvee costumes too!!! I could dress up all the time!
I was making these big bats to hang around the house and I thought, “oh, it would be fun to have a bunch of little bats all flying around together!” haha so I made the mobile : ) yes, random I know!
the little bat in the plant spying on Greta makes me chuckle : )
I love Halloween! did you get any trick-or-treaters? I only got 2! turns out my house is right off of the main drag where all the Halloween action took place – oh well! now I know for next year not to buy so many organic lollipops! ha!
Haha that little bat is spying on her isn’t he?!
We only had 3 trick or treaters! I was so bummed. I love seeing the kids in their costumes. I heard that other neighborhoods got tons! We did celebrate by watching spooky movies tho, like the Disney Legend of Sleepy Hollow. “Ichabod, what a name, Ichabod, but nice just the same” ?
hahaha! Ichabod Crane! I love that movie!! it’s so funny!!! I haven’t seen it in forever! I must watch it next Halloween
Haha!!! I love it!! That little spindly-legged spider is totally rad!! ???
Happy Halloween!
haha! isn’t he cute?! hope you had a delightfully ghoulish Halloween Sass!
I LOVE your little bats!! And I love mohbeels! Very clever, Stella Deer! Now we need a pic of you as a silent movie star!
you’ll just have to wait till next year’s post “last minute what to be for Halloween” 😉
Very creative with the mobile:) Every once in awhile a get a stray bat loose in the house..kinda freaks me out..they look so much bigger when they are flying inside the house:)
oh man! A bat in the house!? yes that would frighten me too! ha. though I don’t mind them outside… they’re such neat creatures : )
