Last night before I went to sleep I read some Rumi (translations by Coleman Barks).  This particular passage from a poem called “Cry Out in Your Weakness” struck a chord:

Be patient.
Respond to every call
that excites your spirit.

Ignore those that make you fearful
and sad, that degrade you
back toward disease and death.

Now I don’t know about you, but I think reminders like these are needed in this crazy modern world we live in, where we often neglect our own greater well-being.

What does this passage mean to you?
