finding peace in nature
I love to sit outside in the evening and watch the colors change in the sky. The night I took this photo I couldn’t pry myself away until after the sun had gone down. The clouds looked so amazing.

Happy Spring!
It’s the first day of spring and the sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, the dogs are panting, the wasps are roving, and the breeze is blowing!
Wishing everyone a beautiful & fun-filled spring!
a bit of Rumi inspiration
Last night before I went to sleep I read some Rumi (translations by Coleman Barks). This particular passage from a poem called “Cry Out in Your Weakness” struck a chord:
Be patient. Respond to every call that excites your spirit. Ignore those that make you fearful and sad, that degrade you back toward disease and death. Now I don’t know about you, but I think reminders like these are needed in this crazy modern world we live in, where we often neglect our own greater well-being.
What does this passage mean to you?
Signs of Spring – Photos
One of the things I appreciate about living in western North Carolina is the beautiful change of seasons. Each one is distinct and it’s really inspiring to be able to so closely watch nature rhythmically moving always forward through its cycles. Here are some pictures I took the last few days of some of the first signs of spring.
