A FIREPLACE IN EVERY BATHROOM
THE 2 LETTER WORD THAT DISSOLVES RESENTMENT
A co-worker asks if you could help them Friday evening in prepping for their garage sale the following morning.
She’s been asking/(nagging) you for weeks.
Really, you’ve got a million things on your own to-do list you wanted to get done, like scrubbing that pan that’s been soaking in your sink that you burned kale in last week and finally giving Max, your pup, a good brushing– plus you could think of a lot better things to do on your rare Friday off than going through someone else’s junk.
Oops, did you think that out loud?
But when the final moment comes:
“So, think you can help me Friday?”
You bow your head and suck in a deep breath.
“Suuuure,” you reply regretfully. read more…
CAN YOU FLY?
Located in Kill Devil Hills on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, the Wright Brothers National Memorial commemorates the two brothers that were responsible for the first successful airplane flight.
Flying is so commonplace today that people don’t bat an eye. But imagine a world before flight ever existed, when one could only watch the birds and dream of the possibility of humans one day following suit.
The Wright brothers together shared a lofty dream. And after years of scientific experimentation and failed attempts it was here in Kill Devil Hills that they finally made their dream a reality.
On December 17th, 1903 the Wright Brothers were truly the first in flight.
Their unrelenting courage and determination should continue to inspire us today to not be afraid to dream the impossible and never let go of what we believe can be achieved.
FREEDOM ON TOP OF A SAND DUNE
Jockey’s Ridge in the Outer Banks of North Carolina is the tallest natural active sand dune on the Atlantic coast.
It’s a protected environment and home to a lot of wildlife, including snakes, raccoons, the Red Fox and Gray Fox, White-tailed deer, and more. And although I didn’t see any of these creatures while visiting the dunes, I did see a lot of their footprints left behind in the sand, which you’ll see in the photos below.
It’s a truly unique environment on the North Carolina coast. The extremely hot temperatures, lack of water, and ever-shifting sands cause it to resemble the Sahara Desert.
And unlike most sand dunes, this one you can walk all over.
The slogan for the state park is “always changing, always beautiful.” I have to agree. A visit to Jockey’s Ridge is an experience like no other.
