An unfortunate truth to a seemingly innocent indulgence: chewing gum may make you gain weight!

That’s because it tricks your body into thinking it’s hungry.  You see, when you chew, you produce more saliva which in turn stimulates the gastric juices in the stomach, as it prepares for digestion. But the fact is: there’s nothing to digest! That is, unless you listen to your body’s cues and reach for a snack– that you probably wouldn’t have been craving otherwise!
