This is the second year I decided to skip a traditional new year’s eve night on the town and opted for a calmer night of camping south of the border– in South Carolina that is.
Sure, it was cold (under 30°), but nothing a roaring campfire, plenty of blankets, and a few swigs of my favorite whiskey couldn’t handle.
The next day to start the new year: a 5 hour hike following several of the trails through Paris Mountain State Park.
I love checking out different breweries, so afterwards a stop into Blue Ridge Brewing in Greenville, SC for a glass of the barley wine was the perfect reward at the end of the day.
