For the well-deserved Saturday morning indulgence.
This recipe is really simple and the results are absolutely delicious!
Unlike most pancake recipes out there, this one of my own doesn’t call for any sugar in the batter– because drizzling maple syrup over them when they’re served makes them plenty sweet enough!
They’re also free from any animal products without compromising texture or flavor.
ingredients:
1 cup organic spelt flour
1 tbsp aluminum-free baking powder
1/8 tsp sea salt
2 tbsp organic oil
1 cup water (or substitute organic soy or other organic unsweetened nondairy milk)
directions:
Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in large bowl. Mix in the water (or milk) and oil, and stir by hand until smooth.
Drop large spoonfuls of batter onto a hot oiled griddle or frying pan and allow the pancakes to cook on med/high heat. Watch closely, and when they’re done on one side, flip to cook the other side.
Serve warm and drizzle with organic maple syrup for a truly decadent breakfast!
Yumsville! I need to try these!
