Ok, so you brew yourself a pot of coffee every morning. What do you do with the coffee grounds? Dump ’em? The truth is that those grinds can still be put to good use. They can be added to your compost that you’ll use for your spring garden, or used as a fertilizer for plants around the house. Not to mention their benefits in the shower. Yes, it might sound strange but it’s true.

Coffee is often an active ingredients in many anti-cellulite creams. It is purported that with the help of the naturally occurring caffeine, applying coffee externally to the body helps increase blood flow, helping to reduce trapped toxins and thus reducing the appearance of cellulite.

Sometimes I like to add a bit of finely ground pumice stone to my coffee scrub, as pictured above, and a few drops of orange essential oil for the uplifting scent. Use this scrub 1-2x weekly to reduce the appearance of cellulite and for softer skin.

SCRUB directions for use: Gently rub coffee grinds into body using a circular motion, rinse with water, then wash with a gentle soap to remove any residue left on your skin. I recommend using a mild & gentle soap like the olive oil soaps found in our shop.

Or, try a coffee body wrap:

WRAP directions for use: Mix coffee grounds with a approx. a tablespoon of olive oil. Rub onto your cellulite “trouble zones.” Cover with old cloth or t-shirt (one that you won’t wear again) and let sit for a few minutes. Wash off with olive oil soap in a warm shower.

Ain’t it funny that coffee taken internally (i.e. that latte in the morning) can actually worsen the appearance of cellulite, but externally it can work wonders?
