Gathering for his nest, this little bird posed for me outside a window.
It was my first time trying out my bigger lens, and he sat there contentedly and entertained the camera while I took a good 20+ shots of him, as if totally aware (and enjoying) his new status as muse.
a Blue Jay
and a red red Cardinal
They both danced through the air to and from the trees, pausing just long enough for me to record their bold & beautiful colors.
A lone, randomly sprung Daffodil.
And unlike the birds, who were so quick to suddenly disappear from my view, GVB was easy to photograph– totally zen next to the big yellow blossoming forsythia.
Leave a comment and let me know- what does springtime zen look like to you?
Down here in Florida, spring was but a day or two and it quickly melted into summer overnight! But I don’t mind a bit! To me, zen is hot sun on my skin and sweat beading on my lip and chest as I enjoy some random outdoor activity like gardening, running, or playing in the sprinkler with my kids!
Gardening and playing in the sprinkler- count me in! And sun on my skin, oh yess. I can’t wait for hotter days here… summer is my favorite season! but for now I am appreciating spring for so many reasons, like the beautiful colors, and the fact that it’s like a symbol for rebirth and fresh starts. Winter is long here in the mountains, so much is barren and grey, so when warm weather finally arrives it feels like a celebration and like the world is waking up again!
These are wonderful shots. Pretty birds and Greta Von Bon looks to be feeling very zen.
Thanks, Jonny. I love the birds and yes, GVB was very much enjoying that spring day!
Hahaha!! Greta the zen dog! She does look pretty relaxed! Springtime zen; longer days, windows open, dinner on the deck–no shoes or socks!!
yes to all those! love this time of year! bare feet!
